Sun Associates is facilitating a technology integration staff development for four teams of teachers from Strang Middle School. This webpage will contain resources shared and distributed at the sessions as well as, we hope, examples of actual teacher projects created during these sessions.
General Overview for Teacher ParticipantsThis staff development will help you explore your best teaching approaches
and how technology can enhance them. Emphasis will be on integrating technology
into
inquiry and project based learning and teaching - in any subject area. You
may already be using the wealth of information, and the communication and
collaboration opportunities made possible by the Internet, but you will see
examples and learn strategies for optimizing its potential and revitalizing
your teaching.
Over the course of the three sessions this spring, will explore the
lesson or curriculum unit of your choice and learn to utilize technology
applications in new
ways.
For
example,
you
may
find
ways
to brainstorm and
visualize ideas with your students using Inspiration,
examine exploratory and collaborative ways to gather, plot, analyze
and report data using
an Excel spreadsheet, or help students demonstrate their learning
with PowerPoint.
